David Chang Parties Like a Toque Star

I was going to blog about this today at the magazine where I am interning, but the link to the video was down all day, so I thought better of it since the blog posting would really be sort of “eh” without the video clip. Hopefully the inimitable Mr. Rojas will blog about it tomorrow.
This video from vbs.tv is the latest installment in their “Munchies” series. The celebrity chef in the hot seat is David Chang, a native Northern Virginian.
He’s come along way from having afterschool snacks at Wu’s Garden in Vienna judging from this episode. Now he drops F-bombs with José Andrés (even media whore Gary Vaynerchuck shows up at Momofuku towards the end of the video).
A lot people are quick to label him an a**hole but quite frankly I found his self-effacing humor quite refreshing. He freely admits less than formidable knife skills and that one of the reasons he started his own restaurant was because he needed to prove to himself that he could meet a challenge.
